Our Philosophy: Responsible Design
Lulan Artisans has sustainable business practices in many ways: economic, cultural, environmental and social. This philosophy is reflected in the craftsmanship, and the natural materials and process found in our textiles.

Economic
We create sustainable livelihoods for our weavers. This impacts not just the individual but also their families and communities.

Cultural
We implement processes and materials that are regionally available, promote differences in cultures, preserve skills and transfer culture relevance among a broader world view.

Environmental
Our fabrics are made with natural materials, such as silk and organic cotton, age-old techniques and processes as well as natural or low-impact dyes that have less impact on the environment.

Social
Weavers, spinners, dyers, finishers are paid fairly for their skill and talent and are respected for their work. It allows people to express themselves artistically, to grow and learn. Some additional services are provided at different weaving centers such as day care and healthcare.

Craftsmanship
Our collections are our own exclusive designs, hand-woven by master weavers creating high-quality artisanal fabrics. Buying these products preserves a traditional craft with modern application.

Natural materials/process
We use materials such as silk, organic cotton and other natural fibers, natural and/or low-impact dyes, age-old weaving techniques and processes that have been used for centuries that create hand spun, hand dyed, hand woven and hand-finished textiles. The use of these materials and process ensures that our fabrics are healthier for our weavers, our customers and our environment.
